Alarming Footage Captures Instant Law Enforcement Are Stabbed in Surprise Attack
One ranking policeman who rushed to the assistance of a partner that was assaulted by a knifeman was granted the Royal Recognition for Courage.
Sgt Tim Ansell struggled against 27-yr-old Jacob Brown subsequent to he pressed a weapon to the throat of his fellow officer Sergeant Marc Foster.
Brown began the violence as the law enforcement personnel and their partner, Police Constable Marcus Wolstencroft, were speaking to a motorist subsequent to a traffic accident in that location in July 2023.
Brown stabbed and slashed both Sgt Ansell and Sgt Foster before Police Constable Wolstencroft stopped him with a stun gun.
"Policeman attacked," PC Wolstencroft could be heard saying over his radio.
Bodyworn and dashcam video made public by the police department showed Brown, wearing in dark clothing with a head covered, run up to Sgt Foster from the rear with a knife extended.
He ran into the officer who tripped and went down to the ground, after which Sergeant Ansell intervened and struggled to restrain him to the floor even though being repeatedly struck with the blade.
PC Wolstencroft deployed his electric weapon and sought a safe opportunity, ending the confrontation to an finish.
Sergeant Ansell can be heard to say: "Can I get help on my neck here, I've been stabbed in the neck."
Sgt Ansell received multiple open wounds to his neck and additional cuts to his limbs and torso, while Sgt Foster received knife wounds.
Officials stated Sgt Foster utilized his palms to stop his fellow officer's bleeding prior to emergency responders arrived.
The new recognition arrives after the law enforcement team received organizational Courage Honors in late 2023 and the police federation award from the local officer association in early 2024.
They were also awarded a North West Valor Recognition in July 2024.
"The actions of all three officers in the end rescued one another and meant no bystanders suffered any injuries."
Brown was sentenced to an secure medical confinement in early 2024, according to authorities.
