Arise, Sir David: Beckham Knighted by the Monarch at Royal Windsor Ceremony
David Beckham received a honorary title at the historic royal residence on Tuesday. The ex-national team leader, 50, was one of the individuals receiving awards for his contributions to athletics and philanthropy. Earlier this year, he stated he was “extremely honored” of being acknowledged in the King’s birthday honours.
Soccer Achievements
Beckham made his Premier League debut for the Red Devils in the mid-nineties and was a key member that earned a thrilling European Cup win in 1999 when they defeated Bayern Munich with last-minute strikes.
Overall, he scored 85 goals and collected honours including multiple English championships and domestic cup wins as a footballer, before retiring from the sport in the past decade. Alongside his football career, he has supported a variety of philanthropic initiatives, including serving as a charitable representative for humanitarian aid organisation Unicef since the mid-2000s.

Charitable and Other Roles
Last year, the sports star, who has referred to himself as a “devoted monarchist”, was appointed an official representative for the royal educational charity, an educational charity established by the King in the early nineties. In the late nineties he was declared most stylish man of the year by a leading publication and he has posed for brands like the fashion retailer, the Italian designer, and the luxury label.
David tied the knot with Victoria in the turn of the millennium and the couple have four children together – Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper.
