US politicians from the two parties are pointing fingers as many of federal staff remain on furlough and the funding gap persists with no conclusion in sight.

The Democratic Party have resisted to back the Republican budget proposal unless expiring insurance support which they claim many working families count on are extended.

The Republican Party want Democrats to pass a short-term measure first and then they can negotiate the subsidies.

The GOP have 53 votes, they require 60 to enact the bill. Could it be that hard to reach agreement over a handful of supporters so that Americans aren't being hurt?

If this continues for an extended period, the reality is Americans are being affected, the populace are being touched by this and a leader must do something to be the responsible party in the negotiations.

I feel sometimes legislators are so distant from us, the common folk living their lives, so they forget what the challenge is like and I feel they need to remember that, particularly if it's three-quarters of a million workers that are not getting paid.

That's a significant number of citizens not getting paid, that's a large group of citizens unable to inject their earnings back into the economic system. The public are just being negatively impacted.

I'm nervous because there is no favorable conclusion with the government being shut down.

I'm already at a stage where I'm fairly concerned because government shutdowns hurt everyone.

I'm going to be okay, but for the rest who relies on the public services, who hopes to tour a National Park or gallery, they're going to be affected, if not immediately, then in the short term.

I do not perceive that this is going to conclude.

The average Americans are stuck in the crossfire, and the left are willing to harm the public. They're not doing their reputation any advantages when they actually block matters like this.

The administration leader is a aggressor and if you give into a bully he's going to ask for further compromises, that's how aggressive people work. So you have to stand up to a bully to make him realise you're not going to give things up for free.

The moment when it crosses a line is when the Democratic Party start suffering in the public relations war, if the story turns to criticizing the left then it might be necessary to end the standoff.
