Trevoh Chalobah Set to Step in for Marc Guehi in England Squad

Trevoh Chalobah in action

Trevoh Chalobah emulated his sibling Nathaniel in playing for England, emerging as the twenty-first pair of brothers to earn caps for the England side.

Trevoh Chalobah is expected to link up with the Three Lions selection to cover for injured Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.

The 26-year-old is set to meet up with the national side for England's last World Cup qualifying matches against Albania and Serbia, but it has not yet been confirmed.

The national side have already qualified for the upcoming competition.

Chalobah was given his initial call-up under England manager Thomas Tuchel in the month of May and then played his first game against the Senegalese team.

In the month of September, Tuchel said Chalobah was unlucky to be excluded from the team for qualifying games against Andorra and Serbia, and also didn't call him up for the next October fixtures.

Tuchel has been an significant presence in Chalobah's development, having handed him his Chelsea first-team bow in the year 2021.

Chalobah has featured in all but four games for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the side in third place in the Premier League, in the EFL Cup last eight and in the league phase of the European competition.

Guehi picked up a injury to his foot in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League win over the Dutch side last week.

There are set to be additional additions to the team. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has confirmed that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) will be unavailable from the squad.
